How to Get the Most out of Your Business Card

If you have a business, you need a business card. It is the most important and versatile piece in your promotional kit. Not only are they cheap to produce, but they're easy to manage. Prospective customers are more inclined to keep your business card on file for future reference, rather than keep a large brochure.

Here are a few tips to get the most out of your business card.

Quality Counts  Even though it might be tempting to save money and run some cards off on your desktop printer, it really makes a difference to get them printed professionally. Prospects are more likely to keep them, and it reflects on the quality of the product or service you are selling.

Have a Double Sided Card  Use the back of the card to expand on the product or service you provide - even add photos! You are, in effect, turning your card into a mini brochure.

Keep it Simple  Display only your essential contact details on the front. I often get frustrated if I have to sift through a lot of non-essential information just to find the phone number! If you'd like to give more information, use the back of the card.

Give them away freely  Because they are so cheap to produce, give them away wherever and whenever you can. Instead of giving just one card, I like to give away two or three where possible to encourage clients to pass them on to friends and colleagues.
